Arrival Story: Boris had been needing a companion to help with his separation anxiety for a while. Since mom, dad and Boris were in Seattle for the summer (long story), and mom was going to be interning 8 hours a day in the fall when they moved back to Austin, mom said to herself: "It's now or never". Dad agreed. They went to a rescue called "Kitty Arbor", looking for a catolescent. Mom and dad did not like the catolescents that were there, so before leaving they visited the kitten dens. I was in one den with my meowmy, two orange brofurs, and another kitty whose mommy was adopted, and whom mommy cat was taking care of. Well, when they came near and tried to look at my orange brofurs (mom wanted another boy), I decided to play with their fingers, and daddy took notice of me. Mom and dad had a quick discussion, and decided to ask after me. Well, one thing led to another, and they went home with me that day. :)
Bio: Gracie (formerly known as Storm) has grown up from a scrawny and silly little thing into an elegant ninja kitten. She is not as much a daredevil as Boris, but rather has grown into her name: she is the most graceful jumper you will ever see. She still has a silly side, one that involves chewing things just to make sure they are not food, and busying herself with hiding toys all over the place (we keep putting toys out, they keep ending up in carriers, by the bowl, and under beds).

I am sleeping next to mommy because she is my favorite person right now for sneaking me my favorite food (Weruva Mediterranean Harvest) to make sure I get to eat. Shhh... Don't tell Boris about that. He would be pretty upset if he found out (not to mention that he wouldn't have let me eat it in peace).
Mommy says that I had a cold earlier this week, but now I seem all better (I am certainly enjoying the extra TLC I've been getting... Secret Tuna Entree? Check! Baby food? Check! Extra ear scritches and brushings? Check... I tell you, I'm living THE LIFE!), and she is pretty happy about that.
I like my afternoon naps on the couch because we get sun in the afternoons, and the couch has red blankets that smell like the whole family (mom's note: it's true, the couch is a favorite napping spot for both us and the cats, hence the permanent blankets). =D
Gracie spent her day in the spotlight lounging on my winter coat, which I laid out on the bed of our guest room. She's loving it, and her dad aptly pointed out that it's very reasonable for her to: it's black, it's soft and warm, and it smells like me. It's sort of an ideal combination of her mommy cat, and her mommy human.
That's why I love my baby girl so much: she is such a sweet, wonderful kitty kat who has very simple pleasures (like grooming her humans, and having her belly rubbed) and is extremely loving in her own timid girl way.
I always say about Gracie that originally I wanted a boy kitty, preferably orange, but that I am extremely grateful that she chose to go home with us anyway, and become a piece of my heart. I absolutely always mean it.
