Arrival Story: While reading the newspaper, we couldn't help but notice how many ' free kittens ' there were that needed good homes. We decided that we could provide just that for at least one kitty. We went to look at a litter and the sweetest little girl with her little pink nose just took to us right away. I said, " We'll take the one with the pink nose!" I could not have made a finer choice.
Bio: Rosie is a very sweet girl. She is a good cat and she always comes when called and she has always treated our tiny new puppies very gently. She loves the dogs and sometimes she can be seen curling up with Penny in the doggy basket, sleeping. She is Zelda Marie's favorite playmate and she really is a saint, the way she tolerates the rambunctious puppy!
Rosie was an indoor only cat for about the first two years of her life but when she became an adult she wanted to be able to go outside - and she told us so! After a few months of not giving in to her pleas, we didn't have it in us to keep her inside for her whole life. She is a cat! She wants to go out and sunbathe and hunt and stalk. That is what cats do! To keep her away from nature would be akin to a person spending one's life in prison! So , Rosie won and she began to go out for short little adventures during the day, and usually spending most of her nights outside. She has fared well over the years and, thankfully, never came home once with so much as a scratch on her! For the past year or so, since about the age of 12, we have gone back to staying indoors, especially at night. Rosie is more and more becoming okay with this rule. She never goes outside anymore, except each night, before I go to bed, she runs out the front door. I wait 5 minutes and open it back up and in she runs!
Beginning in about August of 2006, Rosie began to have a chronic cough. We treated her for hairballs. After about 3 months, Rosie still had a cough and it was getting worse. This would be the very first time in her life that she ever made a visit to the vet for anything other than routine maintenance! Age 13! She has been diagnosed with a serious heart condition. She is responding very well to her medication and we hope to have her with us here for several more years.

Today Momma picked up my ashes from Dr. Nancy. They came in a beautifur tin with flowers and roses on it, accompanied by a pretty card with the Rainbow Bridge poem.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Grieve not
nor speak of me with tears,
but laugh and talk of me
as if I were beside you...
I loved you so -----
'twas Heaven here with you.
Mommy has placed my beautifur tin on her bureau, between the pretty wooden boxes that contain her mommy's and her daddy's ashes.
It is time to play St Patrick's Day Tag with Sir Sonny Bono! Thanks for asking me to play, Sonny! It sounds like just the kind of fun I could use! So, here we go....
Q.-Are you Irish?
A. Ummm... Sure! Isn't everyone Irish on St Patty's Day?! ;)
Q.-Do you and /or your family celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
A. Before this year we'd never been to a St. Patty's pawty, but my pup furblings have been having a great time the past several days pawtying with our pal Murphy and a bunch of other furiends in the Dogster Plus Fun Forum! Of course I can't join them, being a kitty, but if there were a pawty for kitties, I'd be there! :)
Q.- How?
A. Oops! Looks like I answered this one above. :)
Q.-Will you wear Green?
A. I'll look around for my St Patty's Day outfit. I know it's around here somewhere!
*starts rummaging through her clawset*
Q.- What will you wear?
A. I have a green wig! mol!
Q.-Do you like Corned Beef and Cabbage?
A. Hmm... I don't believe I've ever tried it, but knowing me, unless it is tuna flavored, no.
Q.-Do you believe in leprechauns?
A. Why, of course I do!
Q.-Why/Why not?
A.How else could I have been so lucky as to have so many wonderfur, furbulous furiends?!! :)
Q.-What would you like to find at the end of the rainbow?
I can think of sooo many things, but so as not to be greedy, I will wish for "Whirled Peas". ;)
Now, I'm off to Tag some furiends for some St Patty's Day fun!
*wanders off, tail high in the air, to check out her corral*
